TitleLetter from J [John] Brown, Belfast, to [Joseph] Larmor
CreatorBrown; John (1850-1911); British manufacturer
Date5 October 1895
DescriptionHe was glad to get Larmor's card and note they were hoping that Larmor might act upon their suggestion at the B.A. meeting to complete his visit. Winter came suddenly. He has bought a bicycle and trundles his 17 stone around Belfast. He asks if Larmor has done anything to Mr. Hastings. Brown has been reading up on electrolysis and discusses a paper he has found. He assumes that Larmor knows that the entrance and examination hall of his alma mater is being renovated and gives news of it. The portrait of Buchahan presented by Lynn has been cleaned to reveal an inscription stating it was Johannes Carolus, which is sad. He has ordered Whitham's book and if Larmor comes across anything on electrolysis, he would like to hear of it.
