TitleLetter from J [John] Brown, Longhurst, Dunmurry, Belfast, to [Joseph] Larmor
CreatorBrown; John (1850-1911); British manufacturer
Date3 June 1898
DescriptionHe received Larmor's friendly reply and is pleased that Larmor thinks that a nomination to the Royal Society would be worthwhile. He thanks Larmor for offering to write to Everett, who would take some trouble on Brown's account, and has always been very friendly. Jack will have to help himself before Brown 'is called to regions unknown' and Brown had intended to consult practical engineering people. He is waiting until his friend Moxton returns from a consulting trip to France to hear his view, but a good grounding in mathematics and physics should be useful. He is sorry that Cambridge may not be in the programme.
