TitleLetter from A [Albert] Bruce-Joy, the Studio, Beaumont Road, West Kensington, to 'Dear Sir' [Joseph Larmor]
CreatorBruce-Joy; Albert (1842-1924); Irish sculptor
Date27 May 1909
DescriptionIf not toomuch trouble for Larmor, he would like an invitation to the Ladies' soiree at the Royal Society for his wife. Last year when he wrote to a friend about the Ladies' soiree it was too late for anything to be done. He mentions some of the ladies who will be there who know Mrs Bruce-Joy, including the family of Archibald Geikie. He hopes to be able to ask Larmor's advice soon on the sketch of the statue of Lord Kelvin, since there have been many unexpected delays. His wife was intimate with the late Mrs Lloyd, the wife of Humphry Lloyd FRS. Lloyd knew Albert Bruce-Day from his being just a few months old.
