TitleLetter from G H [George Hartley] Bryan, Plas Gwyn, Bangor, to [Joseph] Larmor]
CreatorBryan; George Hartley (1864-1928); Irish mathematician
Date18 June 1919
DescriptionBryan thinks that Larmor would like an account of his experiences at Farnborough after they met in May at Cambridge. He had an interesting time, as will be clear from his report [not present]. They have added to the subjects to be studied in connection with aviation. The Royal Aircraft Establishment is 'a delightful place'. He saw the Tarrant [Tarrant Tabor triplane] a week before the fatal accident and he is trying to show General [Robert] Brooke-Popham a possible cause. He is sending two copies of his report so that Bromwich might have one and this letter might be passed to him. He has at last got an explanation of his research difficulties and he wishes to get wind tunnel experiments started as soon as possible. He sees that Cambridge is starting a University Lectureship in thermodynamics, which reminds him of days long gone.
