TitleLetter from H A [Henry Andrews] Bumstead, 45 Edgehill Road, New Haven, Connecticut, to Sir Joseph [Larmor]
CreatorBumstead; Henry Andrews (1870-1920); American physicist
Date13 November 1910
DescriptionThey were disappointed that Larmor's other engagements prevented him from visiting New Haven in September, but encouraged that Larmor is a regular visitor to America. As soon as he can have another try, he will 'have another shot' at the Silliman Lectureship. He is still much occupied with the new laboratory building, but this will not be finished within the year - the end is in sight. Bumstead saw in Nature that Larmor and J J Thomson were in Berlin for the centenary celebrations and 'doubtless had a good time and drank much beer'. President Hadley, who was Yale's delegate, has not yet returned but is expected soon.
