TitleLetter from H E [Henry Edward] Armstrong, 55 Granville Park, Lewisham, London, to [Joseph] Larmor
CreatorArmstrong; Henry Edward (1848-1937); British chemist and educationalist
Date19 August 1907
DescriptionArmstrong writes that is is hard to be worried about Larmor's point when he is so tired. Surely every paper sent to the Royal Society is open to rejoinder in some way, since they are dealing with a fundamental problem which must provoke discussion from every point of view. He has been able to refer to the paper and is willing to drop the reference to the 1893 equation, since the criticism is incidental. As to the other reference, he submits that it is fair, justifiable and opportune and he does advance pertinent facts and defensible evidence of hydration. He suggests alterations and asks that Larmor be reasonable and fair.
