DescriptionHe was glad to receive the note note after Larmor's reading of the Nature article and hopes Larmor will read May's Philosophical Magazine. Stokes did not have the experimental facts that they now have easily. Barkla summarises what he knows about the effects produced by two heterogenous beams superimposed, and the J phenomenon, concluding with the hope that he will make things clearer in future papers.
