| Description | Asking Larmor if he will look over an enclosure to see if it is suitable for the Philosophical Magazine. He should criticise the piece freely. Berkleley is no mathematician and he has probably made errors. He is anxious to publish since the results of their o.p. work are out and anyone might hit upon the equation, with several people working on it. The last part, an analogy with gases, is weak, and he gives an explanation - Whetham says that it is not good enough or correct. Berkeley is far from well, with the doctor saying he is overworked, so he must leave the meaning of A alone. There is a great deal more in the equation than he has put out, but it need to be verified by experiment first. |
