DescriptionLarmor was quite right about what Berkeley meant about the point of infexion, but his view was the crystallizing phenomena are indefinite in the case of sugars, so he did not think it worthwhile to make calculations, especially if it involves the solution of a quartic. He gives some calculations as demonstrations, with values within the range observed for crystallizing phenomena. He hesitates to put out the whole theory because of the difficulty in interpreting the meaning of the cryohydric point and the whole is too speculative at present. He discusses the problems involved, illustrated with a small graph. The curve of this he is attempting to follow experimentally. He is going away tomorrow, giving his address. He asks Larmor to take charge of the paper, withdraw it, or do anything he thinks well.
