Title | Letter from [Randal Mowbray Thomas Rawdon Berekeley, 8th Earl of] Berkeley, L'Ermitage, Evian (Haute Savoie), to [Joseph] Larmor |
Creator | Berkeley; Randal Thomas Mowbray Berkeley, 8th Earl of Berkeley (1865-1942); British physical chemist and landowner |
Date | 15 August 1908 |
Description | Thanking Larmor for his note and sending £25 as promised. The Transactions proofs will be sent to him at Foxcombe, he hopes. He is anxious to have the paper published as soon as possible, which was partly why he suggested the Proceedings. His holiday is doing him good. He asks if Larmor recalls discussing the possibility of causing a difference of electrical potential between two electrodes immersed in a centrifugalized solution. He tried the experiment and got positive results, but has since found that Noyes has reserved that ground and therefore he has given it up, but has other irons in the fire. He asks that the bankers acknowledge the cheque. |
