TitleLetter from W H Dines at Benson Observatory, Wallingford, to Lewis Dines
Date6 August 1919
DescriptionThanks him for his good wishes, will he also thank Barbara for her letter and the tie which he expects is on the way. He feels it is doubtful that they will get to Ireland thsi autumn, his leg is onthe whole getting better but the process is slow and he cannot stand on it for half an hour yet without great discomfort.

He is ashamed to say he cannot answer Lewis's question. Suggests Mr Richardson, he was with them a short time ago but forgot to ask him. Discusses an equation.

Says he saw Lewis's mean was only 64 degrees last Sunday, they woudl think it very cold here in July if the max was not above 65 - 70 degrees.

Has some items ready for him and will send them along shortly. He cannot get good balloons; the last specially made burst at 2 km.
