TitleLetter from Eleanor Mildred Sidgwick, Kenwyn, Truro, to [Anna Maria] Fox
Date17 July 1879
DescriptionBelieves that yesterday, she left the wrong impression in Miss Fox's mind. Animal experiments in lectures were not especially for women, rather women students were allowed to observe by the physiological and anatomical lecturers. Vivisection occurs, but it is not insisted upon that women students should see associated phenomena for themselves, and many stay away - 'We...ask no questions'. Encloses a circular on a new building [not present, but possibly referring to New Hall, now Sidgwick Hall, Newnham College, Cambridge, completed in 1880].
