DescriptionFollowing an article in the Falmouth Packet on subscriptions from the Duchy of Cornwall to the [Royal Cornish] Polytechnic [Society] and other societies he has applied to Prince Albert. Relates an interview with Sir Henry Wheatley, keeper of the Privy Purse, in which he urged that contributions paid originally by Princess Victoria were a personal favour from her and not from the Duchy. Asks his correspondent for the date of Victoria's first contribution. Note on W J Henwood's salary and temper.
