TitleCopy of a letter from C[harles Edward] Trevelyan, Treasury Chambers, to [Lord John Wrottesley] the president of the Royal Society
Date10 November 1856
DescriptionTransmits a copy of an application dated 14 November 1856. Requests Wrottesley to inform whether the objects of the Microscopical Society can be attained consistently with the convenience of the Royal Society and the other societies at Burlington House. Attached is a copy of the application by the Microscopical Society, 21 Regent Street, to hold its meetings in Burlington House alongside the other societies. Justifies the request by expressing how the works of the Microscopical Society afford important aid to the other societies. Informs that the Microscopical Society only holds nine public meetings per year, which will not interfere with the other societies. Signed George Shadbolt, along with a list of former presidents of the Microscopical Society.
