Description | Encloses Asher's bill and a cheque to pay for it [not present]. Is glad the Office of Works have at last sanctioned the building of the temporary room, and believes that since the preparations are complete, the sooner the architects begin their work the better for all. Believes there is nothing to be done in regards to a matter concerning William Sharpey and the Chemical Society, and that it would not be wise for them [the members of the Royal Society] to ask the use of the Chemical room for their tea. Thinks that in any case the Royal Society's Council room is better adapted to their purposes and there they are not under obligation to anyone, but if Sharpey thinks otherwise he is ready to reconsider his objections. |
