Description | Two draft letters. Front: replies to a letter from 19 September ascertaining that the Council of the Royal Society, in their first meeting after the recess, discussed the correspondent's request for Mancini's papers on Parairemuoto (see AP/22/13), and granted leave for him to take a copy. The Council understood he will provide a transcriber accustomed to Italian who may attend at the Royal Society any day between ten and four. The Council has no evidence a copy has been retained of the secretary's letter to Mancini. Back: refers to a previous letter and requests the correspondent's (The Rt Honourable C W F) aid once more in striking their Copley Medal. The name to be inscribed in it is Sir William Thomson. Informs they will require eases only for the two Davy Medals. |
