- 'Tracing of Photograph by Regnault and JC Stewart in 1853 To show state of the Old Oak tree at the North gate of Hawkhurst Church yard in that year for comparison with its state in 1912 when its latest acorns were planted at Wanfield Berks.
- (in another hand) 'The young sapling planted now (1916) in the churchyard near the old tree is one of these coronation acorns gathered 1911, 5 Oct and planted same year'

Notes with the pencil drawing of the oak tree read: 'This branch was in full strength of foliage in 1853' and about the trunk 'as in 1916'
