TitleArticle in 'The Times' entitled 'Nazis and Jews; Another Violent outburst. New Line of Attack'
Date22/05/1934
DescriptionNewscutting. Article 'from our own correspondent' in Berlin, May 21'

' Although, after an evidently successful sale for several weeks, the "Ritual Murder Number" of Herr Streicher's 'Sturmer' was eventually ordered to be confiscated for an apparently careless editorial note mentioning the Christian Sacrament, the inflammatory anti-Jewish campaign had not been checked.
The ritual murder propaganda is being carried on by the periodical 'Fridericus', published in Berlin, and Herr Wilhelm Kube, one of the pioneers of the Nazi movement, now regional leader in the Kurmark, had contributed a most violent anti-Jewish article to the 'Westfalische Landeszeitung' an official party newspaper with a large circulation in Western Germany. Herr Kuber holds a number of high offices; he is, for instance, a Prussian Counsellor of State, a Group leader of the S.S. (Nazi Guards), and Governor of the Berlin, Brandenburg, and the Grenzmark regions.
'Fridericus' devotes the whole front page and more of its third May issue to an article under the single headline in heavy black type, "Jewish Murderers."
It opens with the assertion, also made by Herr Kube, that the Jews in Germany are becoming so "cheeky" again that it is necessary to put them in their proper light, so that simple-minded people will not begin to think that "the Jews are not so bad after all." It observes that "it is not even necessary to drag in ritual murders as evidence of the perniciousness of the Jews," and proceeds with several columns of a more modern kind of anti-Jewish propaganda. Dozens of examples are given of Jews who sought to "hide themselves" behind German names. Then follow individual examples of unkind Jewish employers and Jewish physicians who are alleged to have experimented inhumanely on patients and the like.
In conclusion 'Fridericus' says;- "The Jew is the danger, is the enemy. Through the Jews, peoples and their culture die. When the nation as a whole really knows the Jews there will be no more room in Germany for the Jews. World Jewry, on whose support the German Jews count, can take note of that once and for all." '
