TitleLetter from John Henry Gaddum to Mrs Schild
Date22/07/1940
DescriptionWritten at 3, The Avenue, Elm Grove, Salisbury

Dear Mrs Schild
I am very sorry indeed to hear that Heinz has been interned. It is sad that this country should be driven to do such things. I do not know why, but your letter was delayed in reaching me - and I am afraid I have not answered it as quickly as I should. I very much hope that this reply will not be too late and will help.
I am working down here and my wife and children are with me in Salisbury - failry safe - but not very safe. I hoep you succeed in getting to U.S.A. to visit Heinz's family.

Yours sincerely
J H Gaddum'
