TitleLetter from Esther Simpson, Secretary of Society for the Protection of Science and Learning to Mrs Schild
Date18 September 1940
DescriptionWritten from the Society for the Protection of Science and Learning (formerly Academic Assistance Council) at Scott Polar Research Institute, Lensfield Road, Cambridge to Mrs M. Schild, 82 Penrhos Road, Bangor, Caern.

'Dear Mrs Schild

Thank you for your letter of September 15th. As a matter of fact Professor Hill has already raised your husband's case specially with the Under Secretary of State. He has told him of his error in reporting your husband lost, and has urged him to release Dr. Schild because he is urgently needed by Professor Winton. I do hope Professor Hill's intervention will be quickly successful. The whole machinery of release is very slow.

Yours sincerely,
Esther Simpson
Secretary'
