DescriptionPhotographs of visits made to Ankara in April 1952 and to Israel in May 1952. Frontispiece is a drawing of a map of the Near East in 1952, showing route taken.

Ankara visit includes 4 photographs of Istanbul, and 34 of buildings and scenes aroung Ankara

Visit to Israel includes photographs of Jaffa, Jerusalem, Bethlehem,Beersheba, the Negev Desert, Caesarea, Haifa, Galilee, Nazareth, the Sea of Galilee, the River Jordan, the Huleth Valley, and Kefar Shmaryahu. The final photograph is of the Alps from above, taken on the flight home.
This section includes a hand-drawn and coloured map of the route taken on his excursion 10-12 May, another excursion in Galilee on 12 May 1952 and , a loose pencil drawing of town and surrounding country entitled 'Salonica 1916'.
There is also a loose invitation from the Mayor of Haifa to a reception in honour of members of the Internation Symposium on Desert Reseearch on 14 May 1952
