Appended to Searle's letter is a bon voyage card with numerous signatures. Topics include: filming with David Taylor and Yorkshire Television, the Shaffers moving to the United States of America, 'Mike and Esther's' leaving party thrown by the Animal Behaviour Research Group, critique of Tinbergen work on autism, Niko Tinbergen's depression and disinterest in his ethological research or photography, time spent at the Tinbergen's Cumbria residence 'High Slakes', elms disease, various publications and films produced by their acquaintances. One letter from Niko Tinbergen has an illustration of Yorkshire TV crew observing sheep from a helicopter.
