Two letters are addressed to Lary and 'the home base crew' from Tinbergen in Niagara Falls one of which includes diagrams suggesting how to capture stills for the 'Tracks' documentary. One coloured postcard shows Niagara Falls illuminated in winter.

A letter from Niko Tinbergen to Joost Tinbergen [Nko's nephew].

A note from Shaffer to Tinbergen.

Light hearted poem about a gull laying eggs, by Tinbergen, written as an ornithological version of the song 'Daisy, Daisy'.

One envelope containing material Tinbergen gave to Shaffer when he was called up for military service. It concerns the use of camouflage. Comprises notes in which Tinbergen suggests that military camouflage could be improved by learning from natural examples of camouflage. Also four watercolour paintings and two black and white photographs of various bird eggs with an indication of how many were taken from the nests. Also includes a camouflage painted viewfinder which is of a size that suggests it is intended to be used to look at the paintings of eggs to visualise their camouflage efficacy.
