DescriptionChiefly comprises letters to Lawrence 'Lary' Shaffer from Nikolaas 'Niko' Tinbergen addressed from the Department of Zoology, Animal Behaviour Research Group, Oxford. Letters cover both personal and professional matters, some are annotated. Topics include a crab paper by Shaffer, research into sheepdogs, the facilities at the Tinbergen's holiday residence 'High Slakes' in Walney, Nikon camera lens, photographs of gulls, Tinbergen's Nobel Prize and the prize money.
