DescriptionHandwritten separation scheme notes proposing the stages of sieving and washing to be applied to the Luna 16 and 20 samples so they can be divided betweeen assigned UK investigators. Notes dated 1 Dec 1972 and appended to a set of Royal Society Allocation Committee minutes of the same date in which a typescript version of the scheme appears.

Typescript and manuscript copies of the 'Programme for sample separation', dated 18 December 1972. A step by step schedule for the stages of separation.

Typescript document titled: 'Luna 16 and 20 Information' which details the separation process, it describes the process of dividing the samples into 'fines' and gives guidance on how to extract the samples from the transfer vessels. This document was sent to the Royal Society as well as UK investigators: Agrell, Durrani, Runcorn, Bowie and Turner and includes a covering letter from Pillinger and Eglinton dated 26 July 1973, Organic Geochemistry Unit, University of Bristol. It also includes a sample allocation table listing the investogator, a description of their assigned samples, the sample numbers and weight.

Hand written list of samples to be allocated to the various UK investigators including information on the sample type, sample number, and investigations to be carried out, e.g. magnetic measurements, petrology etc.

Photocopy of Luna 16 and 20 sample classification schemes. Tables detail: the sample number, numbered key to the samples' composition and binocular sample classification.

Typescript (photocopied) and manuscript notes on isotopic fractination model including a line graph and diagrams.
