DescriptionIn reply to Jackson's letter of 22 March [1886] conveying a resolution of the Council of the Linnean Society relative to the proposed Fishery Department of the Board of Trade, Foster is directed to state that in the opinion of the President and Council of the Royal Society any action on the part of the Society in the matter would be premature.
