TitleCopy letter from Herbert Rix, to Mr T H Varley
Date11 January 1887
DescriptionOnly one of the two accounts for carbon-resistances belonged to the Eclipse affairs, the other was a private matter of Captain [William de Wiveleslie] Abney's. Rix as Assistant Secretary is authorized to pay on one account. Varley's account sent to Rix on 14 December [1886] Rix forwarded to Professor [Thomas Edward] Thorpe, who has promised to put the matter straight. Rix is surprised Thorpe has not already done so and is writing to him again about it but it will be as well for Varley to write to Thorpe as well.
