Title | Copy letter from Herbert Rix, to Professor Thomas George Bonney, Fellow of the Royal Society |
Date | 1 January 1895 |
Description | Bonney doubtless saw a few weeks ago the melancholy news of the suicide of Mr [P Edward] Dove who was formerly associated with Bonney in the honorary secretaryship of the Darwin Memorial. Dove was also secretary of the Transit of Venus Commission and a cash box belonging to that Committee was left locked at the Society.
Yesterday they forced open the box in the presence of Mrs Lloyd, his sole executor. It was found to contain matters relating exclusively to the Darwin Fund. Rix thinks the whole ought to be handed to Bonney as his colleague in that matter.
Rix has Bonney's letter regarding the international Geological map. Rix will pay the carriage on the chest and leave the other questions until he sees Bonney. |
