Description | Rix is desired by the Treasurer [John Evans] to write and thank Fox for his note of the 18th. Evans will be glad to insure the instruments named in Fox's letter for the sums Fox recommends; the set of magnetographs for £200, the dip circle and uniflor[?] for £40 and £60 respectively.
These instruments may be insured in the Lancashire Insurance Company in the name of the Government Grant Committee of the Royal Society. If Fox can let him know that this can be done Rix will send the money for the first premium. |
