Title | Copy letter from Herbert Rix, to Professor Michael Foster |
Date | 14 November 1895 |
Description | Mr R H Scott has just been in and is rather emphatic about the breadth of statute VII which provides that notice of Anniversary Election shall be given at the two ordinary meetings of the Society next preceding. By the new card as revised by the Council on 5 July, there is only one meeting in November and Scott says that to put matters in order a meeting should be held on 28th November. Rix mentioned this to the Treasurer [John Evans] and he said he was to write to Foster about it. The Society might have given notice at the meting of 20 June, but they did not know till July that the Council would strike out 28th November; that date was in the original draft of Rix's card. |
