Title | Copy letter from Herbert Rix, to Lord William George Armstrong, Fellow of the Royal Society |
Date | 7 June 1895 |
Description | The Society has been consulting with the Officers and Mr Swinton about Armstrong's forthcoming [Soirée] exhibit and the general opinion seems to be that it will be better to concentrate their energies on that portion of the exhibition which is to be shown in the principal room upstairs. The repetition of the lantern exhibit which was shown in May seems less important and the edge of novelty has been taken off. It also happens that they have may lantern exhibits this time and they will not be able to do justice to them all. If his Lordship has no objection they shall omit the lecture but make a special show of the prints and the thread apparatus. Mr Swinton takes the same view. |
