TitleCopy letter from Herbert Rix, to Richard Tetley Glazebrook, Fellow of the Royal Society
Date8 October 1895
DescriptionThe man who brought in the 'Principia' manuscript [J H Knowles] about which Rix wrote to Glazebrook about, is pressing for its return.

Rix would like Glazebrook to have seen it before the Society came to a conclusion upon the return or purchase of it. Rix can not send it to Cambridge. Sir John Evans has examined it and says there is no doubt of its being the 'Principia', and of its being an early translation, much earlier than Motte's. Evans does not think it contains Newton's handwriting, but that it is contemporary. Wonders if there is any chance of Glazebrook coming to town in the course of a week or two.
