TitleCopy letter from Herbert Rix, to Sidney Frederic Harmer, King's College
Date6 February 1896
DescriptionRix notes that he is now able to answer Harmer's letter of 22 January, and informs him that the Council have ordered the drwaings illustrating his paper on "Lichenopora" be returned to him, and in accordance with his instruction, they have been sent to Professor Edwin Ray Lankester's address.

He explains that the Statutes of the Royal Society do not allow a manuscript to leave the house, except in exceptional circumstances which do not apply to his case. Harmer is welcome to hire a typist to copy the text of his paper, and he suggests Miss May Ashworth as someone previously employed by Fellows, who have found her work to be 'generally satisfactory'. Rix also provides addresses for the Misses Farren, and Miss O H Taylor, but clarifies that any arrangement should be entirely between Harmer and the typist. All attention and facilities will be provided to anyone he wishes to send for the purpose.
