TitleCopy letter from Herbert Rix, to Dr Edward Frankland, Foreign Secretary, Royal Society
Date9 March 1896
DescriptionRix states that at the Council meeting on 20 February it was resolved that the Foreign Secretary should write a congratulatory letter for Cannizzaro's 70th birthday, but he does not recall having seen the letter and so asks if the matter has been attended to. If not, he request a draft letter to make a fair copy from, and incloses the letter from the Committee which he asks Frankland to return.

Another resolution was to subscribe 100 francs to the presentation due to be made to Monsieur Mittag-Leffler. Rix supposes this involves signature of the printed address inclosed, and if so, asks that Frankland sign and return it so he may forward it with the post office order.
