|Title||Copy letter from Herbert Rix, to Dr Edward Frankland, Foreign Secretary, Royal Society|
|Date||9 March 1896|
|Description||Rix states that at the Council meeting on 20 February it was resolved that the Foreign Secretary should write a congratulatory letter for Cannizzaro's 70th birthday, but he does not recall having seen the letter and so asks if the matter has been attended to. If not, he request a draft letter to make a fair copy from, and incloses the letter from the Committee which he asks Frankland to return.|
Another resolution was to subscribe 100 francs to the presentation due to be made to Monsieur Mittag-Leffler. Rix supposes this involves signature of the printed address inclosed, and if so, asks that Frankland sign and return it so he may forward it with the post office order.
