The President and Council of the Royal Society at a recent meeting resolved to subscribe a sum of one hundred francs towards the monument to M. [Monsieur Louis] Pasteur about to be erected in Paris. I inclose herewith a Post Office Order for that amount, and shall be obliged if you will kindly sign and return to me the inclosed form of receipt.
