Title | Copy letter from Robert William Frederick Harrison, to Professor Edward Albert Sharpey-Schafer, Fellow of the Royal Society |
Date | 9 April 1897 |
Description | Harrison encloses Dr [Edward Emanuel] Klein's report on Edington's paper on Rinderpest [not attached]. Klein spoke to Harrison about it and asked Harrison to tell Schafer more fully than he has done in his formal report that, though the paper is much too long for the 'Proceedings [of the Royal Society]', and ought to be considerably curtailed, he thinks part of it should be published as early as possible.
The difficulty lies with the author being in South Africa. To meet this difficulty Dr Klein says he is willing to make an abstract of the paper, if consent is given. In the circumstances of the case, Harrison has suggested that the communicator, Sir J Chrichton Browne, should be asked to take the responsibility of authorising this abridgement being made. If Schafer concurs, Harrison asks him to either write to Browne or authorsize Harrison to do so. |
