DescriptionWingfield is directed by the Secretary Chamberlain to inform the Secretary of the Royal Society that in reply to a letter from the Royal Society dated 19th November, he has pleasure in acceding to the proposal of the Royal Society that a microscope should be purchased for the Gold Coast Government. A copy of the letter from the Secretary of the Royal Society will be sent to the Governor with instructions that, if possible, Dr Buee or Dr Quartey Papafio should be stationed in a district where there will be opportunities of observing the haematozoon associated with the Tsetse Fly Disease.

Provides details on where to send the microscope if the Secretary makes the purchase. The bill along with the charges for freight will be paid from the funds of the Government of the Gold Coast in the hands of the Crown Agents for the Colonies.
