Title | Copy letter from an unknown correspondent, to Dr Mond, Fellow of the Royal Society, Professor Ramsay, Fellow of the Royal Society, and Dr Shields |
Date | [23 February 1898] |
Description | The referee would advise some modification of paragraph 2, page 10 in relation to comparisons made with Graham's paper. The conditions were somewhat different in Graham's case and the palladium sponge used by Graham was prepared by strongly igniting the cyanide of pallaidum and, though it was pulverulent, its granules were very dense and metallic. It therefore probably differed widely from the variety employed by the Authors in this paper. May seem a small point but there is abundance evidence that the condition of the metal is vital in considering the relation of the metals to the gas it occludes. |
