|14 December 1898
|Acknowledges Melville-Davison's letter of the 17th November. The only means at the disposal of the Society for supplying the Messrs with the apparatus he desires is the Government Grant Fund. Describes briefly how an application can be made. Professor Michael Foster would be pleased to see Melville-Davison when he arrives in England, if he would write and make an appointment.
