TitleCopy letter from Robert William Frederick Harrison, to Professor Dr Griesbach, 29 Industriestr., Mulhausen, Elsass [Alsace]
Date6 January 1899
DescriptionIn reply to letter, Harrison is unable to help with the information concerning the seven men enquired about, with the exception of Thomas Andrew Knight, of Downton Castle, Herefordshire. Knight was born in 1758, elected a Fellow of the Royal Society on 21 March 1805 and died in 1838. Appears to have had a considerable personal fortune and succeeded Sir Joseph Banks as President of the Horticultural Society.
