| Description | The President and the Council of the Royal Society are willing to ask the Admiralty for Fowler, but they have reason to think that if they make the request that Fowler may have the use of the "Research" next year (i.e. 1900) there will be no difficulty whereas if they make it for this year, they will probably meet with a refusal. Therefore are prepared to make request for next year. Asks for Fowler's views. If the request is to be made it must be officially approved at the Council of 16 March. |
