DescriptionIn response to the letter received on 23 May, Evans informs Stutchbury that at the meeting of the Council of the Royal Society on 17 May, it was resolved that the sale of 39,019 pounds, 14 shillings and three pence, two and three quarters consolidated government stock, be authorised for reinvestment, and that Evans was authorised to fix the Society's seal to the necessary documents. The power of attorney to the Society's bankers, Messrs Robarts Lubbock & Company, is therefore in use.
