TitleCopy letter from Herbert Rix, to Mr Preece
Date9 November 1888

Dear Mr Preece,
I find that the price of Palladium is now eight guineas an ounce, and making due allowance for difference in density, the Davy medal in Palladium would yet cost between £46 and £47 instead of under £30. This seems to be an insuperable difficulty.
Yours faithfully,
H Rix
Asst Sec RS [Assistant Secretary, Royal Society]

The Mint would be willing to strike in palladium HR [Herbert Rix]'.
