Description | Gizin's letter of 20 December has been shown to the Officers of the Royal Society, who have directed Rix to inform him that it not usual for the Society to pronounce an opinion on discoveries submitted to them. Some purely scientific discoveries submitted by Fellows of the Society, as their own or as those recommended by them, are printed but no opinion pronounced by the Society.
However valuable Gizin's invention, it belongs more to the branch of applied science or useful arts, and has not received the endorsement of a Society Fellow. |
