DescriptionIn connection with the approaching total solar eclipse for which expeditions are being dispatched from England to observe, asks if the Secretary will dispatch the enclosed letter with the least possible delay to the Governor of Gibraltar, with such recommendation as he may see fit.

Her Majesty's Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs has already obtained from the Government of Spain facilities in connection with the landing of the observing parties and the Lords of Admiralty have placed one of Her Majesty's ships at the services of the expedition for the conveyance of observers from Gibraltar to Alicante.
