DescriptionFarquharson's letter of 18 April, requesting that 'duly qualified women should be eligible for the nomination list of the Royal Society' has been laid before and considered by the President and Council. Any decision as to whether women can be admitted as Fellows depends upon the interpretation placed on the Royal Charters under which the Society has been governed for more than 300 years.
