TitleCopy letter from Robert William Frederick Harrison, to Professor William Abbott Herdman, [Fellow of the Royal Society]
Date25 October 1900
DescriptionThe Society has received another paper from Professor Karl Pearson, number IX of his 'Mathematical Contributions to the Theory of Evolution', encloses herewith a copy of the abstract [not enclosed]. Asks if the paper is to be treated as mathematical or biological and in the latter case, to whom it should be referred. The paper is not so exclusively mathematical as in some previous papers but all the previous papers have been published in the A section of the 'Philosophical Transactions [of the Royal Society]'. Encloses a letter on the subject from the Chairman of the Mathematics Committee, and shall be glad of Herdman's opinion on how best to deal with the paper.
