TitleCopy letter from Arthur William Rucker, to His Excellency, The German Ambassador
Date27 November 1900
DescriptionThe Royal Society has this year awarded their Darwin Medal to the Ambassador's distinguished countryman, Professor Ernst Haeckel, of Jena, on account of his work in Zoology. The President and Council feel therefore that there are special grounds for His Excellency to attend the Anniversary Meeting on 30 November at which the medals will be presented. As Professor Haeckel is unable to attend it is hoped the Ambassador will receive the medal on Haeckel's behalf.
