TitleCopy letter from Robert William Frederick Harrison, to Dr Bernard Dyer, 17 Great Tower Street, E.C.
Date24 May 1901
DescriptionThe Treasurer wishes to point out the difficulty in granting his request to have a thousand copies of his paper 'A Chemical Study of the Phosphoric Acid and Potash Contents of the Wheat Soils of Broadbalk Field, Rothamsted' printed at his own expense, instead of 250 copies. The fact that Dyer plans to give them away for free would also impact on the sale of the paper on which the Royal Society has to rely partly to meet the heavy costs incurred in printing. It also goes against the obligations of the contract with Messrs Dulau & Company. Suggests he approaches the printers directly.
