Title | Copy letter from Robert William Frederick Harrison, to Professor John Cleland, Fellow of the Royal Society |
Date | 24 October 1901 |
Description | Sir M Foster has asked Harrison to reply to Cleland's letter of 22 October and to explain that the formal letter which is sent out upon the consignment of papers to the archives is an old form of communication which was adopted presumably with the idea of reserving to the Council the freedom of publishing a paper at some subsequent time if they though fit to unearth if from the archives, but the words used in the form do not indicate any hesitation in the decision upon the paper. |
